Week ahead forecast – 20/7/14

Week ahead forecast – Mostly dry, Sunshine and cloud.

Sunday night

For most its been an overcast but dry end to the weekend. A full showers are forecast to push across the Southern Half of the Western Isles during the next couple of hours but the Northern Half is forecast to stay dry.

Monday

Monday is looking like being a cracking day. How ever I do put a note of caution with this. We have been here a lot of times before and the cloud has been stubborn to shift. A few showers overnight tonight will clear away and it will be a mostly overcast night. Into the tomorrow and it should be a fine day across the Western Isles. The odd shower cannot be ruled out but it should be mostly dry. This is the tricky bit if the cloud clears we should have done long and prolonged spells of sunshine. The best of the Sunshine is forecast for the afternoon across the Western Isles the cloud looks like it will prove most stubborn across the Southern Half of the Western Isles. The cloud is forecast to push back in once again as we go into the late everning and overnight Tuesday its forecast to remain fine and dry.The winds overnight tonight will be from a South Westerly and Southerly direction before switching to come from a South Easterly direction by the afternoon. Temps around 13C to 19C

Tuesday

Another fine and dry day on the cards. We could get used to this… Despite what will most likely by the suns best attempts it will mostly likely be an overcast day. Overnight Monday into Tuesday is forecast to be overcast. We should start to see some breaks in the cloud as the morning goes and into the early part of the afternoon but the cloud is really expected to dominate. As we more on into the evening we should see some decent evening sunshine before more cloud again pushes in. A dry day on Tuesday the odd light shower cannot as ever be ruled out. Winds will be from a Southerly and South Easterly direction. Another good day temperature wise around 13C to 20C

Wednesday

Another cracking day on the cards. Overnight cloud should start to clear by the morning and it should be fine dry and sunny day with some long and prolonged spells of sunshine. There is a however in here someone and that however is the we could see some afternoon showers but they are forecast to be mostly light and should clear fairly quickly. The rest of the evening should be fine and dry but as we go overnight into Thursday we could see the cloud spreading in once again we some more showers affecting parts of the Western Isles . Winds will be from a Southerly and South Easterly direction around 10 to 20 mph and temps of 15C to 22C

Thursday

We could see some heavier rain push across the Western Isles for a time overnight Wednesday into Thursday. The cloud is forecast to clear and we should see some long spells of sunshine. However the cloud is forecast to push back in during the afternoon and rain will push across all parts and its forecast to clear away as we go overnight Thursday night into Friday. Winds will be from a Southerly and South Easterly direction and around 10 to 20 mph. Temps will be around 16C to 23C getting warmer!!

Friday

A long way off as yet so plenty can change as yet, But more overnight Rain will push across the Western Isles. The rest of Friday will see a day of sunshine and cloud a few odd light showers. A change in the wind direction will see the Temperatures drop to around 14C to 17C. Winds will be from a Northerly and North Westerly direction around 10 to 15 mph.

Long range –

As ever a long way off as yet so plenty can change but next weekend is looking rather unsettled.

Have a great week!
