Sundays forecast – Wet and windy

A Yellow weather warning was issued by the Met office from 3 am tomorrow morning till 11:45 pm tomorrow night. For more information see below.

At this moment in time it looks like the peak of the wind speeds will be for the Southern Half of the Western Isles. The peak is expected during tomorrow morning.

At the moment there are some heavy showers pushing across the Western Isles accompanied by strengthening winds.
Overnight tonight will see more heavy and persistent rain and further strengthening winds as we go into the early hours of tomorrow morning with winds around 30 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Into the morning tomorrow and winds will pick up further across the Southern Half to around 30 to 40 mph and at times reaching 50 and maybe 60 mph. The Northern Half is forecast to stay around 30 to 40 mph with some gusts reaching 50 mph.

Rain will accompany the strong winds tomorrow and will be heavy and persistent at times. But in between we will see some sunshine and could see some decent sunshine, in particular during the afternoon.

During the day winds are forecast to remain around the same for the Northern Half of the Western Isles around 30 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. The Southern Half will see the winds ease down after the peak morning to around 30 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph similar to the Northern Half.

The rain is forecast to ease as we go into the late evening and overnight into Monday where it should be mostly fine and dry, Winds will be from a Northerly and North Westerly direction. Temps will range from 11C to 15C however it will feel colder in the wind chill.
