Weekend ahead forecast – Decent start, rain and gales to end. 30/4/15

Its been a beautiful day for much of the Western Isles. With many areas enjoying some prolonged sunshine. There has been some cloud around and a couple of showers. This is likely to be the them for the rest of this Thursday evening. Some cloud around a few couple of light showers.

Friday

Overnight Thursday into Friday is forecast to be mostly fine and dry some cloud is possible and an odd light shower cannot be ruled out. Now under clearing skies tonight there is a risk of some frost and ice forming as temperatures drop. Into Friday morning and there is likely to be some early morning cloud around. But this cloud should clear quickly for the Southern Half of the Western Isles. We should see some prolonged sunshine here. Now for the Northern Half the cloud could prove more stubborn to shift and there is a risk of a few light scattered showers around. Into the afternoon and the cloud should break once more and we should see some prolonged sunshine across the Western Isles, It should stay dry but an odd light shower cannot be ruled out. It should stay fine and dry as we move overnight into Saturday. Temps will range from 1C to 9C and winds will be around 5 to 30 mph from a Northerly and North Easterly direction.

Saturday

Some uncertainty as yet with the Wet and windy weather forecast for this weekend. We are going to see a change in the weather from Saturday onward. We are going to see some light rain push across the Western Isles overnight Friday into Saturday. Despite the rain we should still see some decent clear spells. Into Saturday morning and we are likely to see some decent morning sunshine. The cloud is forecast to spread in as the morning. As we go into the afternoon the rain is forecast to spread in becoming increasingly heavy as the afternoon goes on. The heaviest of the rain is forecast for the evening. The cloud is expected to dominate. Winds are forecast to be around 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Winds will be from an Easterly and South Easterly direction and temps will range from 3C to 10C

Sunday

Overnight Saturday into Sunday and we are forecast to see some heavy rain spread across the Western Isles. It could be quite heavy and intense at times this could lead to tricky driving conditions at times. More heavy showery rain is forecast during the day on Sunday. We shall see some drier spells but the rain is forecast to be never to far away. The cloud is expected to dominate. Some sunny spells are possible but they are likely to be few and far between. Winds will be from an Easterly and South Easterly direction around 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Temps will range from 4C to 10C

Some uncertainty with a battle between high pressure and Atlantic Weather.
