For many areas across the Western Isles we have seen some decent and prolonged sunshine during Friday afternoon and evening. There is heavy rain across the Southern Half of the Western Isles. We are are seeing the cloud starting to spread into the Northern Half rain is forecast here by the end of Friday evening.

There is a risk of thunderstorms across the Western Isles overnight Friday into Saturday. With the risk decreasing by the end of the day on Saturday.

Overnight Friday into Saturday and we are going to see rain spread across the entire Western Isles. The rain will be heavy at times. Despite this there will still be some decent clear spells.

Into Saturday and we are going to see rain for much of the day. The rain will be heavy at times. The rain will be lightest during the afternoon and evening. In the breaks in the cloud we should see some decent and at times prolonged sunshine.

The theme of Sunshine and blustery showers will last into the evening and then overnight into Sunday. Strong winds will be a theme for Saturday. Winds will be from a Westerly and South Westerly direction before shifting North Westerly direction by the middle of the afternoon winds around 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph. Temps will range 9C to 12C It will feel colder in the wind chill.

Sunday out look –

Some heavy overnight rain. Becoming lighter into Sunday morning. Scattering of showers. Becoming drier. Some sunny spells as the day goes on. Could prolonged at times. Plenty of cloud around especially across the Southern Half of the Western Isles. Staying breezy but winds are forecast to become lighter as the day goes on.
