Good Morning Western Isles this is your morning brief
On this Monday morning we are seeing a dry start to the day. It’s a chilly morning. Plenty of blue skies and some stubborn to shift cloud. Temperatures dropped below freezing at the south Uist Met office site for the first time this winter at -0.2C
Across the highlands and islands on Sunday Stornoway was the sunniest with 5.4 hours of sunshine and Harris Quidnish had the highest maximum temperature of 8.0C
Today…. a frosty start temps will increase as the morning goes on. We are going to see plenty of sunshine. Wall to wall at times. Some stubborn cloud and the odd shower. Winds increasing this evening.
Tuesday….. will be windy with spells of rain.
Wednesday….. an extremely wet day with strong winds gusting 40/50 mph across Lewis and Harris possibly reaching 60 mph across the Uists and Barra.
Thursday….. winds will ease for a time and it will be drier but for winds increase again. As another area of low pressure pushes close by.
Have a great Monday.
