Hogmanay extra forecast –

Good evening Western Isles this is an additonal forecasting covering this evening and the early hours of Tuesday morning. Many people are out and about this evening with additional events going on to mark the 100 years since the sinking of the Iolaire.

There is some mostly light rain across Lewis this evening. But most of the rain has now cleared away. It took a little longer then expected during the course of today. We are seeing clearing skies and winds have eased down from earlier. Still gusting around 20 to 30 mph with some gusts reaching 40 mph.

This evening and overnight will be mostly light. A few isolated showers around. Its going to be a chilly one. Temps will be around 5C to 7C but it will feel colder in the wind chill. A mixture of clear skies and cloud as we go overnight into Tuesday and into the New year.

Overall its going to be a fairly decent evening and night especially for this time of year. For most it will stay dry.

I will post a full in depth forecast for tomorrow late this evening. Have a good night what ever you get up to.
