Wednesdays forecast – Turning colder.

Good evening Western Isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing rain across Lewis and Harris. Drier across the Uists and Barra.

Overnight – We are going to see further spells of rain. These are going to be heavy and possibly thundery. Turning wintry for a time. Winds of 5 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Squally Showers. These will be wintry at times. Some sunny spells. These showers could be thundery at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph at times.

Evening – We are going to see winds increasing further. Showers turning increasingly wintry we could see some snow at times. Greatest risk over higher ground. Some snow showers to lower ground are possible and we could a dusting to lower ground. The showers could be thundery a times. It will feel bitterly cold in the wind chill. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Wind will be Westerly and South Westerly direction but will shift to come Northerly and North Westerly direction and temps will range from 1C to 8C but in the wind chill in the evening it will feel more like -3/-4C
