Thursdays forecast – Improving.

Good evening Western Isles on this Wednesday evening we are seeing plenty of sleet and snow showers progressing across the Western Isles and this accompanied by strong Northerly winds. Frost and ice as well. Some clear skies in between the showers.

A reminder a Met Yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in force across the Western Isles until 12:00 Thursday. Full warning can be found via the Met Office app or website.

Overnight – We are going to see further wintry showers. With more accumulations of snow. Frost and ice. Winds will stay strong. In between plenty of clear skies. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Morning – An icy start with some lingering snow showers but these are expected to become fairly scattered. Increasing amounts of sunshine and the wind will drop. We could even see some prolonged sunshine by late morning. Winds of 5 to 30 mph.

Afternoon – A mixture of sunshine and cloud. Its expected for most to be dry. However the odd shower cannot be ruled out and winds will stay light. Winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Evening – Should be mostly fine and dry. Variable amounts of cloud with plenty of clear skies. Winds will increase a little again. Under the clear skies we are going to see further frost and ice. Winds of 5 to 20 mph.

Winds will be Northerly and North Easterly direction by late tomorrow evening will be South Easterly direction and temps will range from -2C to 6C but will feel much colder in the wind chill.
