Mondays forecast – Cold then sleet and snow.

Good evening Western Isles on this Sunday evening we are seeing wintry showers transiting the Western Isles. Plenty of cloud around with some clear skies. Winds are brisk but have eased down a long way from earlier.

Overnight – We are going to see another cold night. Widespread frost and ice under clear skies. Greatest risk for Lewis and Harris. Mist and fog patches are likely to form. Further wintry sleet and snow showers. Winds of 5 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – A mixture of sunshine and wintry showers. These are going to increase in frequency by late afternoon. Winds of 5 to 30 mph.

Evening – Further snow showers pushing across the Western Isles. We could even see snow accumulating to lower levels for a time during the evening. Some clear skies and frost and ice again. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph.

Winds will be Westerly and North Westerly direction and temps will range from -2C to 6C
