Fridays forecast – Cold and breezy.

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing a fairly dry evening. A few wintry showers across Lewis and Harris. But for most its dry with a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Its extremely icy.

Reminder a Met Office Yellow weather warning for snow and ice comes into force at 18:00 This evening and expires at 12:00 Friday afternoon. For Lewis and Harris only. The full warning can be found via the Met Office website or app.

Overnight – We are going to see another cold night. However temps are no expected to get as low as Wednesday night. A few wintry showers which could merge into some heavier snow showers for a time across Lewis and Harris. Frost and ice widespread. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Plenty of sunshine which will be prolonged at times. The best of this across the Uists and Barra. More cloud across Lewis and Harris. A few in wintry showers and these falling as snow for a time. Increasing in frequency as we go into the late afternoon. Winds of 20 to 35 mph.

Evening – Yet another evening of widespread frost and ice. Plenty of clear skies and further wintry showers. Again at times falling as snow. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Winds will be Northerly direction and temps will range from -2C to 6C
