On this Friday morning we are seeing a wet start to the day. Heavy and persistent rain covering most of the Western isles. Brisk winds.

Pollen forecast for today is low.

Across the highlands and islands on Thursday Stornoway was the sunniest with 1.2 hours of sunshine.

Today – a cloud dominated with further spells of heavy and persistent rain. Slow moving rain. Clearing from Lewis and Harris into the afternoon introducing sunshine and showers. Some of the showers could be thundery. Rain clears for Uists and Barra allowing for cloudy and drier conditions by this evening.

Saturday – a sunshine and showers day breezy. Showers heavy at times possibly thundery.

Sunday – sunshine and showers with light winds.

Monday – light winds but another showery day. Heavy showers at times.
