Saturdays forecast – Cooler and cloudier

Good evening Western Isles on this Friday evening we are seeing a fine dry and warm end to the night for most. Its breezy. Some light showers moving across South uist and Barra as I write this.

Keeping me eye on a few heavy showers that have appeared West of the Western Isles that are producing some heavy rain but these are expected to stay clear of us.

Overnight – We are going to see a cloud increasing across the Western Isles. Some mist and low cloud once again. A few showers are possible but these are expected to be mostly light. Winds will increase the Uists. Winds overnight of 10 to 20 mph gusting 30 mph across the Uists and Barra.

Morning – Will see a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Some mist and lingering fog is expected to clear. Some light rain and drizzle. By late morning we should see plenty of sunshine. Winds of 10 to 20 mph.

Afternoon – A mixture of sunshine and cloud. The best of the sunshine across Lewis and Harris. Some light rain and drizzle in places. Winds of 5 to 20 mph.

Evening  – Some uncertainty as yet so the morning brief will have the latest in the morning. But we are expected to see a fairly overcast evening. Some sunshine which will be prolonged at times. But there is chance of rain pushing into the Uists and Barra that will be heavy and possibly thundery. Winds of 0 to 20 mph.

Winds will be Southerly and South Westerly direction and temps will range from 12C to 20C
