Festival forecasts – Heb Celt and EDF. 17th July

Finally here for the first day of the Hebridean Celtic festival so here is the in depth forecast for Stornoway. I know there are plenty of events on in and around Stornoway so will cover the whole day. This has been a tough forecast as it has been constantly changing for the weekend.

Morning and afternoon ā€“ We are going to see a mixture of sunshine and showers. These will be at times heavy and a slight chance of them being thundery. In between we are going to see some decent and prolonged sunshine. The showers will be well scattered. Winds will be South Westerly in direction around 10 to 20 mph with some gusts reaching 25 mph.

Evening ā€“ Into the evening and there will be a risk of a few scattered showers again at times these will be heavy. In between we will see some sunny spells and these will be prolonged at times. Winds will ease around 10 to 15 mph. Temps of 11 to 16C

Is expected to see a day of sunshine and showers. These will again by heavy at times and accompanied by brisk winds. It will feel warm. In between the showers some decent and prolonged sunshine with a mostly dry end later in the day.

Should be a mostly fine and dry day with variable amounts of sunshine and plenty of cloud. Winds will become light and we will see the occasional spell of light rain and drizzle.

The full in depth forecast for the Western Isles will be online this evening. I will do another heb celt forecast tomorrow early evening for Thursday night and in depth forecast for Friday tomorrow evening.
