Tuesday 30th July Weather Watch

Hello and welcome to the Tuesday addition of the Weather Watch. We are seeing the best weather in the United Kingdom today. After some morning rain and plenty of overcast conditions things are becoming a little bit brighter thank you sunshine in places. Or thunderstorm shield is working well as we have seen little or no thunderstorms this year. There are plenty of warnings across the UK for rain thunderstorms.

Back to the current weather across the Western Isles and we are seeing mostly fine and dry conditions at the moment. Some light rain and drizzle around but we are seeing increasing amounts of sunshine and it is evident by recent radar. Wins I’ll light as well.

The rest of this evening is expected to be largely fine and dry with plenty of sunshine stubborn to clear cloud and light winds. Some light rain and drizzle is possible in places.

Today’s view from space highlights that it’s been quite an overcast day on here we are seeing the best of the sunshine across Eriskay and Barra.

Wednesday across the Western Isles and we are going to see some missed low cloud and fog to start the day. Not everyone will see this and elsewhere will be overcast with some light rain and drizzle. The rest of the day should be largely fine and dry with plenty of sunshine variable amounts of cloud and light winds.

Across the UK on Wednesday and it’s going to be a largely unsettled day. Thundering showers heavy rain gusty winds all associated with an area of low pressure currently pushing across the UK. The best of the drier brighter weather will be for the South and for us in the far north-west.

Thursday across the Western Isles and it should be largely fine and dry with light winds and plenty of sunshine variable amounts of cloud. There could be some mist and fog during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Thursday across the UK and the low-pressure moves out into the North Sea. Going to cloudy and cooler for eastern England and North East of Scotland. We further outbreaks of rain which will be Sunday at times the best of the drier brighter weather will be for the west. High-pressure slowly takes charge from the south.

Friday across the Western Isles and once again it’s likely to be fine dry sunny warm with variable amounts of cloud. Light winds and the risk of some early morning mist and fog.

Friday is high-pressure takes control things become a lot more settled with drier brighter warmer weather with the occasional thundery shower.

Looking ahead long-range and for the Western Isles it’s expected to stay mostly settled with little change anticipated in the weather.

In UK weather news the Met office have a number of yellow weather warnings in force for the UK for today and tomorrow. None for the Western isles. Full warnings and latest updates can be found via the Met Office website or app.
