Good evening Western isles on this Monday evening we are seeing another mild night. Temps in the mid to high teens. Cloud has pushed across the Western Isles this evening with some clear skies. It is mostly dry. However, some heavy showers are clipping Barra and Vatersay at the moment. Winds are mostly light.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms for Harris and South Lewis for Tuesday at 11:00 till 22:00. Overnight – We are going to see some showers push across the Western Isles. These will be heavy at times and will merge into some longer spells of rain. Heaviest across the Uists and Barra and some moving into Harris by mid-morning. Lewis and most of Harris staying dry. A mixture of clear skies and cloud with some mist and fog patches in places. Winds of 0 to 15 mph.
Morning – After a dry start across Lewis and Harris showers will move across the entire Western Isles. These will be heavy and possibly thundery. Not everywhere will see these showers. In between some decent and prolonged sunshine. The showers where they do occur will be slow-moving and could result in some flash flooding. Winds of 5 to 15 mph.
Afternoon – More of the same further showers which will be heavy and possibly thundery at times. Again slow-moving. Not everyone will see these showers. They could merge into some longer spells of rain at times. Again feeling warm with light winds of 5 to 15 mph.
Evening – As we move into the evening there will still be some lingering showers but they will become increasingly scattered with increasing drier spells and light winds. The Thunderstorm risk will decrease. Winds will increase slightly across Lewis and Harris around 0 to 20 mph.
