Wednesdays forecast – Sunshine and showers

Good evening the Western Isles on this Tuesday evening we are still seeing some intense and heavy rainfall across Lewis and harris. Drier elsewhere with some light rain and drizzle. The cloud is dominating. Winds are light and this rain is slow-moving.

The Met Office earlier this evening extended the Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms until 23:59. The full warning can be found via the Met Office website of app. We are still under a SEPA flood alert again full details can be found via the SEPA website.

Overnight – We are going to see further spells of rain which will be heavy and slow-moving at times. Further risk of the showers being thundery. Some clear skies for a time and winds will be mostly light. Becoming drier across Lewis as the night goes on. Winds of 5 to 20 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Will see a mixture of sunshine and showers. These will occasionally be heavy at times but mostly expected to be light then on Tuesday. In between some decent and prolonged sunshine. However, the cloud is expected to increase across all parts as we go into the evening. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Evening – Should be drier with plenty of cloud and light rain and drizzle. The odd heavier shower is possible but for most, it will be mainly dry but overcast. The odd sunny spells. Breezy winds of 10 to 25 mph.

Winds will be Northerly and North Easterly direction which will introduce cooler air. Temps will range from 11C to 16C
