Sunday 11th August Weather Watch

Good evening Western isles and welcome to the latest Weather Watch blog.

On this Sunday evening, we are seeing an overcast end to the day. We are seeing some sunshine winds are light. Some light rain and drizzle. But most places are dry.

The rest of this evening should be largely fine and dry with a mixture of sunshine and cloud winds will stay mostly light. The occasional spell of light rain and drizzle is possible.

Today’s view from space highlights the overcast conditions across the Western Isles the rain has thankfully stayed across the mainland for most.

Monday across the Western Isles We are going to see a day of sunshine and scattered showers some of these will be heavy at times but in between, we should see some decent and prolonged sunshine. Overnight tonight will be a little on the chilly side with temps for most getting into single figures. Winds will be brisk.

Monday across the UK and it’s going to be a day of sunshine and scattered showers the heaviest of these will be across in the north and west it will also feel cooler than it has done of late.

Tuesday across the Western Isles and once again we going to see a day of sunshine and scattered showers however there will be more in the way of cloud than on Monday winds will also increase gusting 20 to 30 mph.

Tuesday across the UK and once again every day of sunshine and scattered showers are fairly settled passing across the UK with low-pressure to the north-west and to the south-west. This will herald a more unsettled theme as the week goes on.

Wednesday across the Western Isles and it’s expected to start off largely fine and dry but cloud will increase as the day goes on and after morning sunshine we will see winds and rain pushing in as we go into the evening this rain will be heavy at times.

Wednesday across the UK and low pressure pushing in bringing unsettled conditions with some heavy rain at times. Low-pressure also sits to the north of Scotland bringing unsettled conditions here as well.

Once again on this Sunday evening, we are seeing several weather warnings across the UK for rain and thunderstorms. No weather warnings for the Western Isles as our weather is fairly settled. The full warnings and the latest updates can be found via the Met Office website or app.

And finally, here are the weather extremes for across the UK on Saturday also noting that Stornoway had the lowest maximum temperature of 14° C.
