Wednesday 14th August Weather Watch

Good evening Western Isles and welcome to your latest Weather Watch blog.

On this Wednesday evening we are saying heavy rain moving across the Western Isles with light winds and it is really Midgie weather. Some breezy conditions around and some lighter spells of rain but most places are seeing some rain.

The rest of this evening will see the winds increased slightly we are going to see further spells of rain which will be heavy and persistent at times. We are also going to see the rain slowly clear away from the south and behind it we will see some clear spells and a few showers.

Today’s view from space once again highlights the overcast and cloudy conditions across the Western Isles. There was some early morning sunshine but by the time this image was taken the cloud had rolled in.

Thursday across the Western Isles and we are going to see some lingering overnight rain that will slowly clear away. We will see a few showers around during Thursday morning but plenty of sunshine and winds will ease down for a time. However winds will increase once again as we go into the evening and we also see further spells of rain heavy at times pushing in during evening

Thursday across the UK and a brief read of high-pressure builds across the country before the next area of low pressure pushes in from the west which you can see on the pressure chart at 992 millibars.

Friday across the Western Isles and we are going to see winds strengthen as an area of low pressure pushes across the Western Isles. When is it going to gust 30 to 40 mph possibly reaching 50 mph in a few exposed locations. We are also going to see some heavy and persistent rain the heaviest of this being during the morning. Into the evening and we will see some sunny spells and it will remain windy before further rain pushes in.

Friday across the UK and it’s going to be a wet and windy day as low-pressure switch to the west of Scotland it’s going to bring heavy rain and strong wins. This will introduce gales at times.

Saturday across the Western Isles and we are going to see yet again another windy day with winds of 30 to 40 mph. Some spells of rain at times but they should clear away allowing for some decent and prolonged sunshine. Further spells of rain expected as we go into the evening.

Saturday across the The UK and it’s going to be a showery day some of these showers will be heavy possibly sundry also going to see strong wins again with some sunny intervals in between.

Today Western Isles weather is seven years old. It’s crazy to think that I have been doing this now for seven years. The first forecast was done on the 14th of August 2012. Since then we have amassed over 20,000 followers across several social media platforms and done over 10,000 forecasts.
