Wednesdays forecast – Rain and wind.

Good evening Western isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing a mostly dry end to the day. Some late evening sunshine. Some light rain and mostly light winds for Lewis and Harris. Stronger for the Uists and Barra.

Overnight – We are going to see outbreaks of rain which will be heavy at times. Winds will increase. Some clear spells to start the night but cloud will increase. Some occasional spells of light rain and drizzle. Winds of 20 to 30 mph.

Morning – Will see plenty of cloud. Some sunshine but the cloud will increase into all parts and we will see heavy and persistent rain move into Barra and then the Uists as the morning goes on. Winds will strengthen. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Afternoon – Heavy and persistent rain for all parts. This will be accompanied by strong winds that at times will gust 50 mph with the greatest risk for the Uists and Barra. Some late afternoon sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Winds of 20 to 45 mph.

Evening – The persistent rain will gradually clear away. In its wake, we will see showery conditions with some sunny spells. Some sunshine in the breaks in the cloud. Winds will ease a little. Winds of 10 to 35 mph.

Winds will be from the South and South West and temps will range from 11C to 16C
