Friday’s forecast – Overcast and wet start

Good evening Western isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing rain pushing in from the South Into North Uist and Barra. Winds are still gusting 30 to 45 mph. Drier for most of the rest of the Western Isles with a mixture of clear skies and cloud.

Overnight – We are going to see a dry start for Lewis and most of harris but rain is going to push across the Uists and Barra. This will be heavy and persistent. As the night goes on the heavy rain will reach all parts. Winds of 10 to 20 mph for lewis and Harris gusting 40 mph for Uists and Barra.

Morning – Further heavy and persistent rain for Lewis and Harris. gradually easing here. Uists and Barra patchy light rain and it will be overcast. Winds of 20 to 40 mph at times reaching 50 mph.

Afternoon and evening – Overcast with patchy light rain and drizzle. A chance of the occasional heavy shower. A few sunny spells are possible. A slight easing of the winds by late evening. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the South and South West and temps will range from 12C to 17C
