Wednesday’s forecast – Rain then sun

Good evening Western Isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing a wet evening for most with light rain and drizzle with some heavier spells of rain. Winds are light. Some drier interludes.

Further heavy rain which will be slow moving is expected to push into the Uists and Barra later this evening.

Overnight – The above rainfall is expected to persist overnight bringing heavy rain to all parts. Slowly clearing the Uists and Barra by dawn. Light rain and drizzle with mist and low cloud. Winds of 5 to 20 mph.

Morning – A few lingering showers should clear for most allowing for some decent sunshine. Variable amounts of cloud. becoming windier. Winds of 10 to 25 mph.

Afternoon – Should be mostly fine and dry with some decent and prolonged sunshine. Feeling warm. Some cloud will be stubborn to clear. The odd shower cannot be ruled out. Winds of 5 to 20 mph.

Evening – Some decent and prolonged sunshine before sunset. Cloud increasing and the odd scattered shower. A mixture of clear skies and cloud after sunset. The best of the clear skies for the Uists and Barra.  Winds of 5 to 20 mph.

Winds will be South and variable and temps will range from 10C to 16C
