Friday’s forecast – rain then cloud then showers.

Sorry for the late update tonight. Had a busy evening.

Good evening Western Isles On this Thursday evening, we are seeing showers moving across the Western Isles and these are heavy in places. We are seeing blustery winds and some clear skies in the breaks in the cloud.

Overnight – We are going to see a dry start to the night for most of lewis and harris with plenty of clear skies. Cloud increases across the Uists and Barra with further heavy and persistent rain pushing into all parts. This will fall on already saturated ground. Winds of 20 to 40 mph but easing as the night goes on.

Morning – The heavy rain spreads across the entire Western Isles. However the heaviest of the rain will clear all parts by late morning. In its place light showers and some sunny spells. Winds will have dropped as well. Winds of 5 to 15 mph.

Afternoon and evening – Plenty of cloud with some light rain. Some heavier showers especially for late evening. Some sunshine the best of this across Lewis and Harris during the afternoon. Drier conditions and winds will be mostly light. 5 to 20 mph.

Winds will be from the South West but becoming variable and temps will range from 9C to 15C
