Thursday 5th September Weather Watch

Good afternoon Western isles and welcome to the latest Weather Watch blog.

On this Thursday afternoon we are seeing mostly fine dry conditions. Plenty of could. Brisk winds with some sunshine.

However as radar shows cloud and rain is building from the west. This rain will be heavy and persistent at times as the evening goes on this will be accompanied by blustery winds.

Today’s view from space once again highlights and overcast conditions across the Western Isle. The best of the sunshine out of our area in Tiree,

Friday across the Western Isles I’m going to say wet and showery start to the day once again. However the showers will become more scattered and less frequent as the day progresses with plenty of blue skies and sunshine variable amounts of cloud and winds will eventually ease.

Friday across the UK and it stays unsettled showers and outbreaks of rain some of these heavy at times staying cool with some sunshine.

Saturday across the Western Isles and expecting to see a fine and dry day with a mixture of sunshine and cloud and light winds.

Saturday across the UK as high-pressure build conditions become more settled. Plenty of sunshine variable amounts of cloud and the occasional shower.

Sunday across the Western Isles And we are going to see strengthening winds once again a few scattered showers and a mixture of sunshine and cloud.

Sunday across the UK and it’s a largely settled day with high-pressure dominating for most the weather front pushes in bringing some showers and outbreaks of rain.

Looking ahead long range and there is plenty of uncertainty in the forecast very much depending on where Dorian and Gabrielle the two tropical systems end up. it will very much influence our weather but at this stage it is expecting to stay windy and wet throughout the week.

In global weather news hurricane Dorian sits off the Carolina coastline bringing strong winds storm surge and tornadoes to the area it overnight returned to a category three hurricane. And we also have tropical storm Gabrielle out in the middle of the Atlantic at this stage no threat to land.

In the Western Pacific we have typhoon Ling Ling expected to make landfall on North Korea in the coming days.

I’m finally here are the weather extremes for the UK for Wednesday including Harris Quidnish.

Thank you for reading.
