Tuesday’s forecast – dry then rain and gales

Good evening Western Isles on this Monday evening we are seeing a fine and dry end to the night. Plenty of clear skies with some cloud and light winds.

Overnight – We are going to see a dry night. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. It will be dry and cloud will increase as the night goes on. Winds of 5 to 15 mph.

Morning – Should be fine and dry with a mixture of sunshine and cloud. But the cloud will increase into all parts. Winds of 5 to 20 mph.

Afternoon – Rain and wind will increase. The rain will push into the Uists and Barra first and reaching Lewis and Harris later. It will be heavy and slow moving. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Evening – Heavy and persistent. The large amount of rainfall which again will be slow moving could result in some minor flooding in spots. This will be accompanied by strong winds gusting 40 to 50 mph with some gusting 60 mph. There will be some drier interludes and winds will slowly ease down by late evening.

Winds will be from the south and south west and temps will range from 8C to 15C
