Good evening Western Isles on this Friday evening we are seeing some showers across Lewis and these are heavy in places. We are also seeing brisk winds. A mixture of clear skies and variable amounts of cloud.
Overnight – An overcast night with some clear spells. A few sharp showers around. Some light rain and drizzle. Winds wil increase as we go into the morning gusting 30 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph by mid morning.
Morning – Heavy and persistent rain is going to be slow moving. A few drier interludes with spells of lighter rain. The cloud will dominate. We are also going to strong winds gusting 40 to 50 mph widely and at times reaching 55 to 60 mph.
Afternoon – Into the afternoon and more rain. This, however, will gradually ease down. We are going to see further strong winds. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph possibly reaching 60 mph at times.
Evening – It should be drier across the Western isles at the heaviest of the rain clears away. We are still going to see some showers. It will remain overcast with winds easing down a little. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.
Winds will be from the West and South West. Temps will range from 9C to 16C
