Wednesday 25 September Weather Watch

Good evening Western isles and welcome to the latest weather watch blog.

On this Wednesday evening we are seeing rain moving across the islands mostly light but we are seeing some heavier spells. Winds are mostly light and a few sunny spells.

The rest of the evening will see further outbreaks of rain which will be heavy at times. Heaviest across the Uists and Barra.

Thursday across the Western isles will see overnight heavy rain. A mixture of sunshine and showers as the day goes on. Brisk winds and still feeling warm.

Friday across the Western isles and we are going to see another day of sunshine and showers. Occasionally heavy but fairly well scattered and brisk winds.

Saturday across the Western isles and ages. More sunshine and showers. These heaviest for Lewis and Harris. Plenty of sunshine and dry conditions. Feeling cooler then of late.

Looking ahead towards the end of the weekend and into next week and it will stay fairly settled but turn cooler.

In global weather news tropical storm Karen has been struggling as the storm meanders around close to Caribbean islands.

On the other hand Lorenzo became a hurricane and is expected to become a major hurricane by the weekend.

And finally here are the weather extremes for Tuesday across the UK. It was a very wet day.

Thank you for reading. The radar comes from Netweather. Pressure charts and extremes from the Met office. Hurricane images from the national hurricane centre.
