Sundays forecast – For one last time

Good evening Western Isles on this Saturday evening we are seeing heavy rain moving across the Western isles. Some drier slots. Winds are brisk, lighter across Lewis and Harris.

Overnight – We are going to see further heavy and at times persistent rain moving across the Western Isles. This will gradually ease as the night goes on. Winds of 20 to 30 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Will be largely fine and dry. Plenty of cloud with light rain and drizzle. Increasing amounts of sunshine especially across the Uists and Barra. Extending to all parts by the evening. Winds will ease further. Winds of 5 to 30 mph.

Evening – The cloud will increase into all parts with some sunny spells in the early evening. Largely dry but some light rain and drizzle cannot be ruled out. Winds will also start to increase. Winds of 10 to 40 mph.

Temps of 9C to 16C and winds from the South and South East apart from in the morning across the Uists and Barra coming in from the West and North West before again shifting to come from the South East.

Monday – Worth keeping an eye on for some strong winds on Monday gusting 50 to 60 mph possibly reaching 65 mph. At this stage, no warnings have been issued. A little lower than normal for wind then you would see a warning but could well bring the strongest of the wind speeds of this Autmn / Winter so far.

On this Saturday morning we are seeing rain moving across the Western isles which is becoming heavy in places. We are seeing blustery winds. Plenty of cloud with some sunshine.

Across the Highlands and Islands on Friday stornoway was the sunniest with 6.2 hours of sunshine. The highest maximum temperature of 14.7C at South Uist range and also the highest rainfall of 2.4 mm.

Today – a cloud dominating and wet day. Outbreaks of heavy and at times persistent rain reaching all parts. Some drier intervals for a time. Staying windy winds of 20/40 mph occasionally reaching 50 mph.

Sunday – wet and showery with blustery winds.

Monday – gales and further heavy rain. Winds gusting 50/60 mph.

Tuesday – staying windy with outbreaks of rain which will be heavy at times.

Saturdays forecast – becoming wet and windy

Good evening Western isles on this Friday evening we are seeing a dry end to the day. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds have eased.

Overnight – we shall see a fine and dry night. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Brisk winds. Cloud will increase as the night goes on. Winds of 20/40 mph.

Morning – patchy rain will push in. This will become increasingly heavy across the Uists and Barra. Some sunny intervals but for most it will be overcast winds of 20/40 mph.

Afternoon – will see outbreaks of rain which will be heavy at times and this will be accompanied by strong winds. The heavy rain will push into all parts. There will be some spells of light rain and chance of the odd sunny spells. Becoming windier again, winds of 20/40 mph gusting 50 mph for the Uists and Barra.

Evening – the heaviest of the rain is expected across Lewis and Harris. Becoming more patchy and lighter elsewhere winds ease a little. Plenty of cloud. Winds of 10/35 mph.

Winds will be from the South East and temps from 9C to 13C

On this Friday morning we are going to see a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Winds are still brisk winds gusting to 40 mph, but it’s largely fine and dry. Feeling a little warmer then the last few mornings.

across the Highlands and Islands on Thursday South Uist was the wettest with 3.0 mm of rainfall.

Today – plenty of blue skies and sunshine. Feeling warm but but a brisk wind. Variable amounts of cloud. The odd shower cannot be ruled out but most places will stay dry.

Saturday – will see a windy day with strong winds and heavy rain.

Sunday – outbreaks of rain and blustery winds.

Monday – will see gales possibly the strongest of the season so far reaching 60 mph maybe a little stronger.

Tuesday – staying windy with further gales.

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing a band of rain across Harris and the Uists and part of Barra. Most of Lewis is dry. We are seeing wind speeds gusting 50 mph.

Overnight – We are going to see some lingering rain but for most, it will clear away giving a fine and dry night but it will stay windy. A mixture of clear skies and cloud. Winds of 20 to 45 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Again largely fine and dry the odd shower cannot be ruled out. We are going to see plenty of cloud but where it breaks we are going to see some decent and prolonged sunshine. It will stay fairly windy but nothing significant. Winds of 20 to 40 mph but easing slowly as the day goes on.

Evening – Some early evening sunshine. The clear skies with some cloud to end the day. Largely fine and dry with variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 5 to 30 mph.

Winds will be from the East and temps will range from 8C to 15C

Good evening Western isles on this Wednesday evening we are seeing a largely dry end to the day with some light rain and drizzle. Plenty of cloud with some clear skies. Mostly light winds.

Overnight – We are going to see a mixture of clear skies and cloud. But the cloud will increase into all parts. Winds of 5 to 20 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Its going to be largely overcast but dry. We are going to see a few sunny spells. Winds will increase and a few showers before heavier spells of rain move into the Barra and the Uists by late afternoon. Winds of 10 to 40 mph gusting 50 possibly 60 mph for the Uists and Barra.

Evening – Into the evening and we are going to see rain push into all parts. Some uncertainty to how far north it will get and it will be heavy at times. it will stay overcast and by windy. Winds of 20 to 40 mph for Lewis. Southwards gusting 50 mph and at times reaching 60 mph for Uists and Barra.

Winds will be from the South East and temps will range from 5C to 14C

On this Wednesday morning we are seeing a few showers around. Breezy conditions. Plenty of sunshine and it’s feeling chilly.

Across the Highlands and Islands on Tuesday stornoway was the sunniest with 5.6 hours of sunshine and Harris quidnish had the highest maximum temperature of 12.6C

Today – a showery day feeling chilly with plenty of sunshine and breezy conditions with variable amounts of cloud.

Thursday – starts off dry plenty of cloud but rain pushes in later. Brisk winds.

Friday – plenty of sunshine and feeling warm with stronger winds.

Wednesday’s forecast – Chilly

Good evening Western Isles on this Tuesday evening we are seeing a largely dry end to the day. A few hefty showers across Lewis and Harris but for most its dry. Plenty of clear skies with some cloud. its feeling chilly.

Overnight – We are going to see a chilly night with temps dipping down to under 5C in spots milder for the Uists and Barra. A chance of a touch of frost in some sheltered areas.  Some scattered showers and these will occasionally be heavy. Variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 10 to 20 mph.

Morning and Afternoon – Plenty of Sunshine even prolonged sunshine at times. Variable amounts of cloud. A few showers around which at times will be heavy but these will become more isolated as the day progresses. Winds of 10 to 25 mph feeling chilly.

Evening – As we move into the evening it should be largely fine and dry. Plenty of clear skies with variable amounts of cloud. Feeling chilly. Winds under 10 mph by the end of the day.

Winds will be from the North and North West and temps of 3C to 14C

Tuesday morning brief

Good Morning Western isles this is your morning brief

On this Tuesday morning we are seeing a mixed start to the day. Some showers occasionally heavy. A mixture of sunshine and cloud. Brisk winds and feeling chilly.

Across the Highlands and Islands on Monday stornoway was the sunniest with 5.5 hours of sunshine.

Today – a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Brisk winds making it feel cold from the North. Some showers and these will be occasionally heavy.

Wednesday- another showery day and it will be a breezy day. Feeling cold again.

Thursday – still bags of uncertainty but likely to see windy conditions as ex hurricane Lorenzo moves past the UK. Strong winds and rain are a possibility. But the exact path of the area of low pressure remains unclear.

Friday – depends very much on the movement of hurricane Lorenzo at this stage.
