Weather Watch 17th July 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Fridays Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Friday afternoon we are seeing a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Unfortunately quite a lot of cloud but there is still some sunshine. A few scattered showers around. Winds are mainly under 20 mph with some gusts reaching 30 mph. Highest temperature so far today 15C

Saturday – Across the islands and we are going to see a mixture of sunshine and showers. Not massively different from Friday. It will be fairly wind again with gusts up to 40 mph. Some of the showers will be heavy at times. Some decent and prolonged sunshine at times.

Across the UK the cold front moves Southwards. Rain for parts of England, Wales and showers in Scotland. Low pressure sits off iceland and bringing brisk winds. High pressure sits out in the Atlantic.

Sunday – across the islands. Becoming drier and brighter with some sunshine. A few scattered showers and these will occasionally happy at times. Winds will slowly start to ease down as the day goes on. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Easing down to under 20 mph by the end of the day.

Elsewhere the cold front lingers across the South of England. Winds across most of the UK are calm. High pressure builds in from the West 1028mb.

Monday – We are going to see a mainly fine and dry day across the islands. A mixture of sunshine and a few scattered showers. Mainly light. Winds will ease down to under 10 mph by the end of the day. Still plenty of cloud but the best of the sunshine will be into the evening.

Across the UK mainly fine and dry with a few showers in Scotland. Drier and brighter elsewhere. High pressure dominates across the UK 1029 mb.

long range. – A mainly settled start to the week. However its looking like we will see some wet weather on Wednesday. Signs of warm weather for end of next week but staying unsettled. A long off as yet but I will keep you updated.
