Good afternoon Western Isles on this Thursday afternoon we are seeing rain moving across the Uists and Barra as I type. Winds gusting 35 mph here. Drier across Lewis and Harris some showers here. Mainly overcast winds under 20 mph here.
The rest of the evening will see further rain which will move across the Islands. It will be slow moving and persistent across Uists and Barra. Winds gusting 40 mph possibly 50 mph for the Uists and Barra.

Friday – across the islands and we are going to see a warm day. Temperatures in the mid to high teens. There is a slight chance of us seeing 20C. There will be some spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Some sunshine at times with plenty of cloud.
Across the UK its going to be a hot day with temps widely reaching 30C possibly slightly higher. Thunderstorms later. Clouder and cooler for the West with outbreaks of rain. Low pressure sits to the West 980 mb and high pressure to the East 1019 mb.
Saturday across the islands will be mainly fine and dry. A mixture of sunshine and cloud. A few scattered showers. Feeling warm and winds gusting 20 to 30 mph.
Across the UK it will be a much cooler day with sunshine and scattered showers. Breezy conditions.
Sunday – across the islands will be mainly fine and dry. we are going to see a mixture of sunshine and cloud. A few scattered showers around. Brisk winds once again.
Across the UK will see a mainly overcast day with some sunny spells and scattered showers. A ridge of high pressure sits across the UK. A small area of low pressure 1001mb will bring rain into Ireland and SW England later in the day.
Long range– Looking unsettled to start next week but things could settled down later in the week.
Into the tropics and we have the 9th named storm of the 2020 season Isaias this is bringing life threatening flooding and strong winds to Puerto Rico. In the next few days it will move across the islands of the Caribbean and head towards Florida but still lots of uncertainty.

In Raleigh North Carolina a lightning strike did some crazy damage to the runway.
