Good evening Western Western Isles on this Monday evening we are seeing some rain along coastal fringes of the Western isles. Mainly Lewis and Harris. The west coast of Lewis has seen quite a bit of slow moving showery rain. Thanks for the people who have given me updates about this. Elsewhere a mixture of sunshine and cloud this evening. Winds under 20 mph.
Overnight – We are going to see a dry but overcast start. Rain will move into the Western Isles as the night goes on. This will become heavy and persistent. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.
Morning and afternoon – Bands of rain will sweep across the Western Isles. This rain will be heavy and at times persistent. The very heaviest of the rain is expected for Barra. The Uists and across higher levels of Harris. We could see surface water on the roads at times. There will be some lighter spells and some drier interludes. Winds of 20 to 40 mph
Evening – The rain will gradually become lighter but we will see further spells of heavy rain at times. In it wake we will see some mist low cloud with a risk of fog. Some drizzle at times. Winds still gusting 40 mph but will eventually ease to under 20 mph.
Winds will be from the South and South West and temps of 10C to 16C
