Fridays forecast – Rain then improving later.

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening the cloud has pushed in after such a beautiful day. The cloud was slow to clear in places. We are seeing some light rain with further rain waiting out in the Atlantic. We have seen winds gusting 30 to 40 mph this evening and it is a mild night with temps in the mid teens.

Overnight – We are going to see an overcast night. We are going to see rain push into all parts. This will become heavy at times. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph for the Uists and Barra. A mild night with temperatures not expected to drop below 13C

Morning – Further spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Some drier conditions and by late morning most places will either see lighter rain or be dry. Winds of 10 to 30 mph.

Afternoon. – Some light rain but for most, it’s going to become dry. We are going to see increasing amounts of sunshine and it will feel mild again. Winds of 0 to 20 mph some gusts reaching 30 mph.

Evening – Should be fine and dry for the vast majority. Plenty of sunshine and feeling warm and variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 0 to 20 mph.

Winds will be from the South and South West and temps of 9C to 18C Sunrise and Sunset

Stornoway – 05:31 and 21:29

South Uist – 05:40 and 21:29

3 days ahead.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday – Fine dry and sunny with increasing clouds and lighter winds by Monday.

The rest of next week looks mainly dry with light winds. High pressure dominates.
