Weather Watch 17th August 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Mondays Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Monday afternoon we are seeing a mixture of sunshine and cloud. It is feeling warm and pleasant in the sunshine. Winds are light. However this is showers moving into Barra and this will be an ongoing threat into the evening of well scattered showers which could be heavy at times.

UK Weather News

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for parts of Scotland on Tuesday.

Dramatic photos captured on Sunday show a waterspout in the Bristol Channel on Saturday

Global Weather News

Extremely high temperature was recorded in Death Valley on Sunday. 54.4C which could be one of the hottest global temperatures. But like any of these records it will need to be properly verified. We will keep you updated on this.

Tropical Weather –

Things in the Atlantic are simmering at the moment. Tropical storm Josephine went to the storm graveyard in the sky. There are a couple of area of disturbances that have come off Africa that have got the tropical world watching with bated breath. Something that I will keep you updated on.

Moving across to the Eastern Pacific and we have Hurricane Genevieve which will become a major Hurricane in coming days.
