Friday’s forecast – Winds ease but showers. 

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we are seeing showers around. These are heavy and thundery in places. We are seeing winds gusting 20 to 30 mph across Lewis and Harris but in places, they have significantly eased off. The Uists and Barra gusting 40 to 50 mph. Todays max temp was 19C 
A reminder the Uists and Barra remain under a yellow Met Office warning for winds until 0400 Friday morning. The full warning and latest updates can be found via the Met office website or app 
Overnight – We are going to see further showers these will be heavy at times and possibly thundery and for a time will merge to form some longer spells of rain. We are going to see a mixture of clear skies and cloud in between. It will remain wind across the Uists and Barra gusting 40 to 50 mph but eventually easing as the night goes on. Gusting 20 to 30 mph for Lewis and Harris. 
Morning and afternoon – We are going to see a day of sunshine and scattered showers. These will occasionally be heavy. For most, it will stay dry but there is a chance throughout the morning and afternoon of these showers the risk reducing as the afternoon goes on. In between, we should see some decent and prolonged sunshine with variable amounts of cloud. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph in the early morning. 
Evening – It is expected to be mainly overcast with some sunny spells a few scattered showers but most places will be dry. Winds of 10 to 25 mph. 
Winds will be East and South East and temps of 12C to 18C
