On this Thursday morning, we are seeing strong winds gusting across the islands winds have gusted 62 mph at South Uist range. The overnight low was 15C. We have. seen a band of heavy rain move across the islands and its wake we are seeing a mixture of sunshine and showers.
A reminder North and South Uist, Benbecula and Barra are under a yellow weather warning for winds from the Met Office till 0400 Friday morning. The full warning and latest updates can be found via the Met Office website or app.

Pollen forecast for today is Moderate

Across the UK on Wednesday Stornoway was the sunniest with 10 hours of sunshine.

Today – We are currently in the peak of the strongest of the winds across the Uists and Barra. Winds. gusting 60 to 65 mph. Winds will stay gusting 40 to 50 mph here. Lewis and Harris gusting 30 to 40 mph and we could see the odd gust reaching 50 mph. We are going to see continued showers moving across the islands. These will be heavy and at times merge into some longer spells of rain. There is a slight chance some of these showers could turn thundery later. In between the showers we are going to see some decent and prolonged sunshine.

Friday – Sunshine and showers throughout the day. Winds are expected to ease as we go into the early morning on Friday.

Saturday – Breezy overcast and showery.

Sunday – Cooler breezy with sunshine and cloud.
