Good afternoon and welcome to Thursdays Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Thursday afternoon we are seeing a band of slow moving rain moving across the islands. This bringing some rather heavy rain as it moves. A mixture of sunshine and cloud elsewhere with some showers. Max temp so far of 20C and winds are still gusting 50 mph for the Uists and Barra but much lighter elsewhere
This evening will see further spells of rain which will be heavy at times.

Friday – For the Western Isles will see further spells of heavy overnight rain and then it will be a mixture of sunshine and cloud for Friday day. Winds will ease by Friday morning and it will become breezy. Max temp of 18C
Across the UK it will be a windy day with gales at times and further spells of rain which will be heavy. Feeling cooler. Low pressure sits close to the Western Isles 981mb.
Saturday – Across the islands will see overcast and breezy conditions with spells of mainly light rain. Feeling cooler then late with the North Easterly wind.
Across the UK and it remains windy with sunshine and showers along with brisk winds.
Sunday – For the islands a mainly dry day with a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Some scattered showers. Breezy again with winds from the North East.
For the UK and it will turn drier and brighter in the North with plenty of sunshine across Scotland. Winds ease down for most but further showers will occur for most of the UK.
Next week – is looking fairly settled again as high pressure builds back in with sunshine and breezy conditions with rain at times.

There is double trouble with Tropical Depression 13 and 14 likely both to become Tropical Storm Laura and Marco in the coming days. Both will threaten the United States at some point down the line.

In the Eastern pacific this images were captured of Hurricane Genevieve yesterday.
Genevieve is now weakening as it moves past Mexico bringing wind and rain.
