Wednesday’s forecast – The first of many gales

Good evening Western Isle on this Tuesday evening we are seeing rain moving across the Western Isles this rain is heavy in places. We are seeing overcast conditions. Winds have been gusting to 32 mph today and the highest temp was 16.2C

Overnight – We are going to see an overcast night with spells of rain which will become increasingly heavy as we go into the early hours of Wednesday morning. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Morning – Overcast with further spells of rain. The odd sunny spells, The rain will become increasingly heavy into the afternoon. Winds reaching 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Afternoon – Heavy and possibly persistent rain especially for Lewis and Harris. Blustery winds throughout with the peak of the winds. Some sunny spells. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph and some exposed coastal areas reaching 60 mph.

Evening – The heaviest of the rain will clear away and behind it, we will see showery rain. Some sunshine and cloud. Staying windy but easing down a little. Winds of 10 to 30 mph gusting 40 mph.

Winds will be from South and South West and temps of 12C to 16C
