Friday’s forecast – Showery and brisk winds

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we have seen winds gusting 50 mph. We are seeing spells of rain. These are mainly confined to Lewis and Harris at the moment. Some late evening sunny spells but mainly overcast. Today’s max temp was 16C

Overnight – We are going to see a mixture of clear skies and cloud. Showers which again will be heavy at times. Winds will ease down a little. Winds of 20 to 40 mph. Some gusts after midnight could reach 50 mph but mainly under 40 mph.

Morning and afternoon – Sunshine and showers once again and these will be heavy at times. Thet will become quite frequent at times. Some decent spells of sunshine in between. Some drier spells at times. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Evening – Further showery rain which will be heavy at times but increasing drier spells. A mixture of clear skies and cloud with some sunny spells. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the West and South West and temps of 10C to 14C but feeling cooler in the wind chill ( yeah that time of year again)

Saturday – Windy start but winds ease later and sunshine and showers again.

Sunday – A blink and you miss it ridge of high pressure moves in. Dry cool light winds.
