Good afternoon and welcome to Thursday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Thursday afternoon we seeing some showers moving across the islands which are heavy at times. Winds have been gusting 30 to 45 mph. In between some decent spells of sunshine and feeling pleasant in the sunshine. Highest temperature so far today of 16C
Further spells of windy weather are expected this evening as the Met Office mention in this tweet.

Western Isles forecast – (UK outlook follows below)
Friday – We will see another windy day across the islands gusting 30 to 40 mph. Further sunshine and showers across the islands and these will be heavy at times. Temps of 9C to 15c
Saturday – It will start windy but as low pressure moves away conditions will improve. Winds will ease into the evening as high pressure builds in. Some showery rain into the morning. Becoming cooler into the evening.
Sunday – A ride of high pressure sits across the islands. A brief spell of high pressure will bring dry and settled conditions. Overcast. but cooler with temps in the early hours and overnight into Monday getting into single figures.
Long range – Next week it will stay windy throughout the week with spells of rain at times.
UK forecast –
Friday sunshine and showers for most on Friday the best of the drier weather for the East coast and most frequent showers for North West Scotland. Saturday staying breezy in the North and North West. Drier and brighter for most but further showers with longer spells of rain for Northern Ireland and the West coast of Scotland. Sunday sunshine and drier weather with lighter winds for most. Showers in the morning and afternoon for England and wales but clearing for all but the South East by late evening.

Typhoon Maysak is dissipating over North Korea but behind it is Typhoon Haishen expected to heading towards Japan this weekend.
In the Atlantic hurricane Nana made landfall on Belize early on today. Elsewhere tropical storm Omar is now a tropical depression and will dissipate in the next few days.
