Weather Watch 5th September 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Saturdays Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Saturday afternoon we are seeing spells of rain and showers. Some decent and prolonged spells of sunshine. Winds have ease for most. Highest temperature so far today of 15.4C

Western Isles forecast – (UK outlook follows below)

Sunday – We are going to high pressure briefly builds up over the islands. We are going to see a day of sunshine and cloud. Winds will be lighter. But further weather fronts await out in the Atlantic will bring stronger winds into the evening. Rain is expected to be move in during the evening but will be mainly dry. Winds will be from the West and North west and temps of 9C to 14C

Monday – Low pressure close to Iceland will bring us windy weather for further spells of rain. Nothing to significant is expected. Winds will gusting 20 to 40 mph. The strongest of the winds will be during the early hours of Monday morning. It will stay windy throughout the day. Heaviest of the rain will be during the morning. Showery rain for the rest of the day. Temps in the low to mid teens.

Tuesday – We are going to stay in an unsettled air flow. We are going to see a mixture of sunshine and showers. Winds will be brisk gusting 20 to 30 mph. Staying fairly mid.

Long range – For the rest of the week it will stay unsettled with brisk winds. Some decent spells of sunshine but we are going to see further spells of rain.

UK forecast –

Sunday high pressure dominates across the UK. Showers for England and Wales. Drier and brighter in Scotland with a few scattered showers. Lighter winds. Heavy rain for the North West of Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of Northern England. Rain and showers elsewhere but drier for Southern England and South East. Windy with gales for the West and North West. Tuesday sunshine and a few scattered showers for England and Wales. Rain for Scotland and North Ireland. Drier in the East and brisk winds.
