Friday’s forecast – Heavy overnight rain with sunshine and showers.

Good evening Western Isles on this Thursday evening we seeing mainly overcast conditions with some clear skies. Some rain across Lewis but most places are dry. It’s a windy evening. Winds gusting 40 mph. Today highest temp of 13.2C

Overnight – We are going to see some rain move across the islands with some clear skies. This will become heavy and persistent at times during the early hours. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph and at times reaching 50 mph.

Morning – The heavy rain will slowly clear away. We will see some sunshine and it will be prolonged at times once the heavy rain. We will see further showers. Winds of 20 to 40 mph gusting 50 mph.

Afternoon – Sunshine and showers. These will be heavy at times. It will remain windy throughout. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Evening – Showers but they will become more scattered. Sunny spells before sunset and some clear skies after. Winds of 20 to 40 mph.

Winds will be from the South West and temps of 8C to 14C
