Good afternoon and welcome to Thursdays Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Thursday afternoon we are seeing heavy rain move across Lewis and Harris and blustery winds. Showery for the Uists and Barra but drier at this stage and plenty of cloud. Winds are gusting 40 mph. Todays highest temprature so far of 13C

Western Isles forecast – (UK outlook follows below)
Friday – We are going to see heavy overnight rain as we go into Friday morning. Sunshine and showers which will be heavy at times during the day. Some decent and prolonged sunshine. Winds gusting 40 to 50 mph from the South West. Temps of 9C to 15C but feeling colder in the wind chill.
Saturday – Staying windy as indicated in this chart with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph. Again a day of sunshine and showers. These heavy at times but less frequent then on Friday. It will be windy throughout the day. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 9C to 15C
Sunday – Another area of low pressure system will move in bringing further spells of heavy rain. The heaviest of the rain is expected during the morning and afternoon. It will be a most overcast day with winds gusting 40 to 50 mph again. Winds from the West and South West and temps of 11C to 15C
UK forecast
Friday heavy rain for Scotland and a band of rain will move South East and slowly fizzle out. Dry for most of South and Central England with plenty of sunshine and feeling warm here. Rain for Scotland Northern Ireland on Saturday but fine and dry for England and Wales it will feel warmer. Fine and dry sunday and warm for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
