Good afternoon and welcome to Sundays Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing rain across the bulk of the Western Isles. The rain is heavy and persistent in places. Its overcast. Highest temperature so far of 15.4C. Winds under 20 mph for Lewis and Harris but gusting to 40 mph for the Uists and Barra.
Reminder we remain under a Met Office rainfall warning until 23:59 this evening and a SEPA flood alert.
We are now going to take a look at the next few days weather. All the images shown below come from the Met office and can be found by following this link https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/maps-and-charts/surface-pressure

Monday – Across the islands will see another overcast day with further outbreaks of rain which will be heavy at times. More drier spells with some light rain and drizzle at times. Winds gusting 20 to 35 mph. It will feel milder as well. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 12C to 16C
Tuesday – Weather fronts sit close by. We are going to see sunshine and showers. These heavy art times. Winds gusting 20 to 30 mph. Still feeling mild. Temps in the mid to high teens however winds will change to come from the North as we go into the evening.
Wednesday – High pressure sinks down from the North and it will become fine and dry. Plenty of sunshine and windy at times but cooler. Variable amounts of cloud.
One thing to note on the chart below is the appearance of Paulette possibly a hurricane at this time on this chart. However a long way off as yet and lot of uncertainty of where it will go and any impacts in Europe.
Monday fine dry and hot for England and parts of Wales. Rain for Scotland with showers in Northern Ireland. Becoming warm here. Tuesday a fine dry and hot day again for the South East but showers in the North West again. Wednesday a few showers breaking out in England and Wales. Dry and sunnier for Scotland but turning cooler here.
