Just a quick blog post this evening the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rainfall for a part of South West Scotland. It will be a wet night for the West Coast of Scotland. Winds in the Western Isles in the Uists and Barra are forecast to reach 50 to 55 mph this evening. No warning for us in the Western Isles.
The test for the above warning from the Met Office chief forecaster
Heavy rain will arrive in the early hours leading to a very wet Wednesday morning. 25-35mm will fall quite widely in around 6-9 hours, with 40-50mm in a few locations. Despite the recent dry conditions, these totals will be enough to cause some surface water flooding, or flooding from smaller watercourses.

The two computer models the GFS and Euro go with 40 to 50 mm worth of rainfall till end of the day tomorrow.
I will update this tomorrow if anything of note happens.
