Weather Watch 4th October 2020

Good evening and welcome to Sundays Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing rain across most of the Western Isles. The rain is heavy and persistent in places. Some drier slots and it is overcast. Winds have been gusting 40 mph and todays highest temp of 13C

We are now going to take a look at the next few days weather. All the images shown below come from the Met office and can be found by following this link

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Monday – Low pressure dominates the UK weather. We are going to see some overnight rain with mist and low cloud. This rain will clear away and the day time will be mainly fine and dry with plenty of sunshine and variable amounts of cloud. Further rain as we go overnight into Tuesday. Winds will be much lighter then we have seen of later under 15 mph. Temps of 6C to 14C

Tuesday – Sunshine and showers. Some of these showers heavy at times. Winds light until the evening then increasing later. Low pressure dominates. Winds coming from the North West and temps of 7C to 13C

Wednesday Again further sunshine and showers as low pressure sits to our far North just off Norway. Showery rain during the entire day these will be heavy at times. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. Winds will be from the West and North West and temps of 7C to 13C

UK Forecast

Monday sunshine and further spells of rain for most. This rain will be heavy at times. Fairly mild. Tuesday showery rain and windy in the North but becoming drier and sunnier in the East. Wednesday wet for the North West of Scotland and windy. Elsewhere becoming fine and dry later.

In the Atlantic we have tropical storm Gamma which made landfall on Mexico last night

In the Eastern Pacific hurricane Marie continues to weaken
