Good afternoon and welcome to Thursday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.
On this Thursday afternoon we are seeing showers moving across the islands. Heavy in places with hail and sleet mixed in. In between some decent and prolonged spells of sunshine. Winds under 20 mph and todays highest temp so far of 10C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)
Friday – We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers across the Western Isles. These heavy at times. Some hail with a slight risk of a thundery shower. Winds under 20 mph for Lewis and Harris gusting 30 to 40 mph. It will be a chilly day. Some decent and prolonged spells of sunshine in between. Temps under 10C and winds will be from the North West.
Saturday – A overcast day. Rain and showers in the morning but becoming drier and brighter. Winds gusting 20 to 30 mph at times reaching 40 mph across the Uists and Barra. Winds will be from the North West and temps of 8C to 12C
Sunday – High pressure builds on across the UK. Winds become lighter with a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Winds will be light. However the next set of weather fronts await out in the Atlantic and will move in later in the day with rain that will become heavy moving into the late evening and overnight into Monday with winds gusting 30 to 40 mph.
Friday rain and showers for most with some wintry weather over higher ground across Scotland. A mixture of sunshine and cloud in between. Saturday mainly fine and dry day for most of the UK. Rain for the West and North coast of Scotland. Further rain across Wales. Sunday showers along the East coast of England but for most it will be fine and dry. However rain will move into the North West coast of Scotland later.
