Weather Watch 17th October 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Saturdays Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Saturday afternoon we are seeing a mixture of sunshine and cloud. The cloud is mainly dominating. Some light rain and drizzle but most places are dry. Todays high so far of 9.5C. Winds under 20 mph.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Sunday – Another overcast day with some light rain and drizzle. A few showers later into the evening. High pressure still dominates. However a change is coming with low pressure systems waiting to our South West. Winds on Sunday with be from the North and North East but will shift to come from the South and South West later. Temps of 4C to 10C

Monday – Low pressure becomes dominate on Monday. We are going to see overcast conditions with some sunny spells. Outbreaks on rain which will be heavy at times. These will be on and off throughout the day. It will be a windier day with winds gusting 20 to 30 mph. Winds will be from the South East and Easterly direction. Temps of 5C to 11C. Low pressure sits to the South West of the UK.

Tuesday – The area of low pressure deepens 979 mb. This means we are going to see stronger winds on Tuesday. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. At times reaching 50 mph for the Uists and Barra. We are also going to see rain which will be heavy at times. Winds will be from the North East and temps of 7C to 13C

UK Forecast

Sunday overcast with some patchy light rain and sunny spells. Heavy rain moving into the West late in the day. Monday heavy rain for the West with stronger winds driest for the South East of England. Tuesday heavy rain and strong winds possibly gales for the West. Drier for England and Wales with some rain moving into the South later. It will feel milder then of late.
