Weather Watch 22nd October 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Thursday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Thursday afternoon we are seeing mainly fine and dry conditions with some light rain. Some sunshine and variable amount of cloud. Winds under 20 mph. Todays high so far of 9.9C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Friday – Overnight heavy rain moving across the Western Isles. We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers. These will be heavy at times. Some decent spells of sunshine in between. Winds of 20 to 40 mph from the South West and temps of 5C to 11C. Low pressure builds in the Atlantic.

Saturday – We are going to see a windy day across the Western Isles. Winds gusting 50 to 60 mph at times. The strongest of the winds for the Uists and Barra which could be over 60 mph for a time. Further spells of rain which will be heavy at times. As a deep area of low pressure moves close with a low pressure of 958 mb. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 5C to 11C

Sunday – Will see another wind day. Winds gusting 50 to 60 mph again. We are going to see further spells of rain which will be heavy at times and showers. With some sunny spells. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 6C to 11C

In the far South West on this chart we see hurricane Epsilon.

UK forecast

Friday a band of rain clears across the UK with breezy winds and sunshine and showers. Saturday heavy rain move across the entire UK. It will be windy with the strongest winds in the North West. Sunday wet in the West with Strong winds. Breezy in the East with some sunshine.
