Weather Watch 25th October 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Sunday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Sunday afternoon we are seeing rain and showers with bands of heavy rain moving across the Western Isles. Winds have been gusting 30 to 45 mph and some gusts reaching 50 to 55 mph for the Uists and Barra. Today’s high of 11C

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Monday – The low pressure system slowly clears away to our East. In its wake we are still going to see further showery conditions. These showers heavy at times. We are going to see winds coming from the North and North west gusting 30 to 40 mph. Some sunny spells at times. Becoming drier and cooler later with temps of 3C to 11C

High pressure briefly builds with two areas of low pressure out in the Atlantic.

Tuesday – a mixed day as a deep area of low pressure in the Atlantic and its associated weather fronts bring us rain and blustery winds. The heaviest if the rain will be across the Uists and Barra. Some sunny spells at times. We are going to see winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. For Lewis and Harris overcast with winds gusting 40 mph. Winds will be from the South East and South West. Temps of 5C to 12C

Wednesday – Low pressure to our West 957 mb. We are going to see a day of sunshine and showers with brisk winds. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph. Showers again which will be heavy at times. Some sunny intervals at times. Winds will be from the South and South West. Temps of 6C to 11C

Monday rain and showers for the West these fading later. Drier and brighter for the East of the UK. On Tuesday a band of rain sweeps across the UK. Heaviest for North East of Scotland. Showers in the wake of the band of rain. Wednesday sunshine and showers with the most frequent in the West and the best of the drier and brighter weather in the East of the UK.
