Good morning Western Isles this is your morning brief

On this Monday morning, we are seeing bands of showery rain moving across the Western Isles. These heavy and persistent in places. Winds gusting 20 to 40 mph strongest across the Uists and Barra. Overnight low of 7.6C

Across the Highlands and Islands on Sunday South Uist had the highest maximum temperature of 11.1C

Today – We are going to see further spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Some decent spells of sunshine. Prolonged spells of sunshine for a time. Showers becoming more scattered later. Drier with clear skies and cloud this evening. Winds gusting 40 mph. Winds under 20 mph into this evening.

Tuesday – Overcast dry start to the day. We are going to see longer spells of rain during the afternoon. Winds under 20 mph for Lewis and Harris gusting 40 mph for the Uists and Barra.

Wednesday – Sunshine and showers with winds gusting 30 to 40 mph.

Thursday – Further spells of rain which will be heavy at times. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph again possibly reaching 50 mph for the Uists and Barra.
