Weather Watch 27th October 2020

Good afternoon and welcome to Tuesday’s Weather Watch taking a look at the weather for the islands, the UK and around the Globe.

On this Tuesday afternoon we are seeing rain across much of the Western Isles. Heavy in spots. Winds under 20 mph but gusting 30 to 40 mph for the Uists and Barra. Today’s high of 10C so far.

Western Isles forecast – (UK forecast to follow)

Wednesday – Lwo pressure sits out in the Atlantic. We are going to see brisk winds. With spells of rain which will be heavy at times. The strongest winds and the heaviest of the rain across the Uists and Barra. Blustery for lewis and Harris with less rain here. Some sunny spells. Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph for the Uists and Barra. Under 20 mph for Lewis and Harris. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 7C to 11C

Thursday – Again low pressure dominates. 982 mb. This will bring heavy rain later in the day. After a dry start with some sunshine. We will see some heavy and persistent rain moving in during the late afternoon and into the evening. Winds to 20 mph gusting 30 to 40 mph for the Uists and Barra. Winds will be from the South and South East and temps of 5C to 13C

Friday – Low pressure moves away on Friday and things become more settled. It will stay quite breezy with winds gusting 30 mph. A few scattered light showers. Some sunshine and variable amounts of cloud. Winds will be from the South West and temps of 6C to 11C

UK Forecast

Wednesday wet in the West drier in the East with scattered showers. Heavy rain moving into Northern Ireland later. Thursday dry for South East England rain for North West England and Wales heavy here weather warning issued more below. More rain for Scotland. Friday becoming drier and brighter with sunshine. But further rain for parts of Wales but clearing away later.

Hurricane Zeta made landfall on the Yucatan last night

Josh Morgerman (Icyclone ) was in the centre of Zeta as it made landfall.

Typhoon Molave make landfall on Vietnam in the next 24 hours.
